Human Resource Task Force has Adopted its Annual Agenda for 2010
I Amendments to Labor Regulations, specifically:
The Labor Law and the General Collective Agreement
II Implementation of Laws, specifically:
The Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of People with Disabilities
The Law on Staff leasing
III Exchanges of experiences within our membership - focused meetings on specific topics:
1. Rewards for good performers: evaluation and remuneration practices
2. Employment management - incentive schemes (promotion/education/quality of life)
3. Work/life balance
4. Succession planning and talent management- recruitment tactics and developing talent within the company - measuring effectiveness of the investment in training and development
5. Integrity of HR Managers inside the company / struggling for strategic position (review of experiences) - performance evaluation of HR efforts
6. Managing the managers: Situational leadership - developing managerial skills/task delegation; Restricted autonomy - comparative experiences in autonomy for decision making of management (including HR Managers)
The HR/Workforce Development Task Force began its work at the end of 2008 and quickly defined a robust annual agenda:
- Improving provisions of the Labour Law and General Collective Agreement aimed at cutting red-tape and reducing the compliance burden in times of economic crisis;
- Promoting student internships through removing regulatory and administrative impediments, as well as increasing awareness of the benefits of internships within the corporate sector;
- Cooperating with the Health-Care Task Force by sharing information and exchanging experiences aimed at improving health care for employees within the AmCham network.
HR/Workforce Development Task Force specific accomplishments to date include:
- Compiling comprehensive comments on the General Collective Agreement (GCA) and Labor Law from member companies;
- Joining forces with the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce to present problems with the GCA in correspondence addressed to Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković;
- Submitting AmCham comments on the GCA and planning a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Labor and Social Policy;
- Through cooperation with USAID's Competitiveness Project, conducting a survey on internship programs currently implemented by AmCham member companies and obtaining formal support for internships from the Ministry of Sports and Youth as an activity that furthers their efforts related to the recently adopted Youth Strategy.
Jelena Kralj of Pedersen and Partners was appointed as HR/Workforce Development Task Force Manager by the AmCham Board of Governors.
