President

Skip Bornhuetter

Skip Bornhuetter was appointed Managing Director of DIN "Fabrika duvana" a.d. Nis, an affiliate of Philip Morris International ("PMI") for Serbia and Montenegro in May 2007 and Area Director for Philip Morris International in South East Europe in May 2008. PMI is the leading tobacco company in Serbia and Montenegro, employing approximately 1200 people.  With investments of over $ 900 million, Philip Morris is the largest American investor and one of the largest international investors in Serbia. 

Skip Bornhuetter has a 28 year career in PMI with numerous contributions and achievements to the business. He began his career in the company in 1981, joining Miller Brewing International. As of 1986, he joined Philip Morris Duty Free Inc. where he held positions in Planning, Marketing, Sales until 1994 when he was appointed Director of Philip Morris Duty Free Inc. In 1996 Skip was appointed Director Trade Development- Rye Brook, NY USA, while in 2002 he became Director Sales Strategy - Lausanne, Switzerland and until 2004 he was leading the development of the PMI Global Sales Strategy. In 2004, Skip was appointed Vice President - Process Improvement where he led a business transformation project of four functions: Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Information Systems.

Skip holds the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Bucknell University and a Masters of Business Administration with High Honors from Cornell University.

 

First Vice President

Vladan Živanović

Since 1996, Vladan Živanović has worked in managerial positions in IT companies that are leaders in domestic and regional markets. After more than 3 years as Sales Manager in ComTrade, he decided to join new and fresh Microsoft office in Belgrade in fall 2003 as Partner Manager. Next year he was appointed on position of Director of sales for large companies (Enterprise & Partner Group - EPG Director). In September 2008, Mr. Živanović assumed the position of GM of Microsoft office in Serbia. The teams that were managed by Mr. Živanović in previous period scored numerous successes in the highly demanding and challenging market conditions of the Republic of Serbia. Among the results achieved by the team, special highlight goes to those that had significant impact on operations and position Microsoft office in Belgrade in the domestic market, such as clearly defining strategic relationships with the largest customers which led to quality and market clearly recognizable ways of cooperation, and establishing a high level of trust between Microsoft office in Belgrade and its largest customers in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. Among these results, the first serious step was taken in applying eGovernment solutions in the capital, in cooperation with the Institute of Informatics and Statistics of the City of Belgrade, including numerous successful IT projects that are slowly but surely changing the perspective of IT infrastructure in the local economy. Mr. Živanović was also responsible for the accelerated adoption of Microsoft information technology in the public sector in the territory of Republic of Montenegro.

 

Second Vice President

Matthew B. Perkins

Mr. Perkins was appointed vice president and general director of U. S. Steel Serbia effective March 1,  2009.

In this position, he is responsible for overseeing all activities at facilities in Smederevo, Šabac and Kučevo.

In his career Mr. Perkins worked for LTV Steel Company for 10 years before U. S. Steel acquired LTV's East Chicago Tin facility in East Chicago, Ind., where he was employed as an area manager, in 2001. After progressing through positions at East Chicago Tin and Gary Works in Gary, Ind., Perkins transferred to Serbia in 2003 when he was named general manager-finishing at U. S. Steel Serbia's Smederevo facility. He advanced to operations director for U. S. Steel Serbia one year later.

During 2006 Mathew had been  relocated to the United States, where  he served as plant manager-primary operations at Great Lakes Works, overseeing all iron and steel making operations at the Detroit-area facility. He returned to U. S. Steel's European operations in November 2007 when he was named to his most recent position, vice president-operations at U. S. Steel Kosice, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations at the company's facilities in the Slovak Republic.

Matthew Perkins, 41, is a native of Hamilton, Ohio, where he graduated from The Ohio State University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering. He completed his master's degree in business administration at the University of Pittsburgh in 1998.  He rezides in Serbia  with his wife Nadežda.

Secretary Treasurer

Marko Mićanović

Marko Mićanović is co-founder and Managing Partner of Belgrade's corporate finance advisory firm Altis Capital. Among the firm's M&A and capital markets engagements, key transactions he led include €30m private placement in East Point Holdings by RC2 (closed in Q4 2008), €109m acquisition of Austrian shipping operator DDSG Cargo by East Point, €93m acquisition of Meridian Bank by Credit Agricole, €40m stock swap in Energoprojekt, €35m equity raisings of Metals banka, sale of DMD Sistem to Group4Securicor, and bidding strategies for target companies in Serbia for Warburg Pincus, Groupama, OMV, etc.  Marko holds board positions in AmCham Serbia (as the association's Secretary-Treasurer), Energoprojekt, and Serbia & Montenegro Export Credit Agency.  Mr. Mićanović served as Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Serbia (2003-2004) and legal advisor in the Ministry of Finance, covering capital markets and financial institutions.  He sat on boards of insurer DDOR Novi Sad (2003-2004), Serbian Fulbright Alumni Association (2003-2005), and Serbian branch of International Law Association (2000-2005). 

Marko is a lawyer by training. A member of the New York Bar, he holds law degrees from New York University School of Law and the University of Belgrade.

Untitled Governors

Gustavo Navarro

Mr. Navarro has been at the helm of Holcim Srbija as a Country Manager since 2006, in 2002, Holcim Srbija joined the family of Swiss concern Holcim, one of the leading cement, aggregates and concrete producers, with more than 90.000 employees in more than 70 countries. Mr. Navarro graduated from the Faculty of Economy and obtained MA degree in business administration from Business School of Lausanne. He joined Holcim in 2003 as a CFO. Navarro is a seasoned executive having served across diverse geographies, especially in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and South America. He is an expert in business development, business start ups, and reorganization. Under his leadership Holcim became the leading cement brand in Serbia. In 2008 after establishing Business Leaders Forum with 14 other companies/organizations Navarro was elected the president BLF as recognition of the Holcim's strong leadership in CSR in Serbia.

 

Jelena Kralj

Jelena Kralj joined Pedersen & Partners, a leading international executive search firm operating in 37 wholly owned offices, in early 2007 as Consultant and Country Manager Serbia.

Previously, Ms. Kralj was the Advisor to the Minister of Finance and Head of the Securities and Capital Market Department at the Ministry of Finance of Serbia.

At the same time, Ms. Kralj was a Vice President of the Working Group in charge of negotiations on the SAA with EU concerning financial services and the free movement of capital, supporting the Government Team. She was also a member of a team in charge of preparation of the Association Procedures of the Republic of Serbia' s association with the WTO, and relating to the financial services.

Prior to this, Ms. Kralj spent many years in private business, being a General Manager and majority shareholder at "EFA" Brokerage firm.

Ms. Kralj was among the pioneers who created the Exchange and stared trading in Serbia and Montenegro. She was a chief broker of Currency exchange »MONTENEGRO EXCHANGE MARKET«; she worked as chief broker of »Commodity Exchange«, Belgrade, and she was the 1st authorized broker of stock exchange company »EKI BROKER« (brokerage house of the Institute of Economics).

Ms. Kralj was born in Belgrade in 1969. She holds a BBA from the European Association of International Business and Management and she also studied in the US. In addition to her native Serbian, Ms Kralj speaks fluent English and French.

 

Zoran Petrović

Zoran Petrović as Deputy Chairman of Managing Board of Raiffeisen banka a.d. is responsible for Treasury and Investment Banking, Investment fund and Voluntary Pension Fund Management Company.

Mr. Petrović graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. He started his professional career at the Economics Institute in Belgrade on projects related to the privatisation of socially-owned corporate sector.  In 1992 he joined Yugobanka where he spent four years in corporate and five years in Treasury Division. His employment with Raiffeisen banka a.d. started in 2001.  In the period from 2001 to 2005 he worked in Treasury Division.  Starting from November 2005 Mr. Petrović has been the Member of the Managing Board responsible for Treasury and Investment Banking and since February 2007 he has been appointed to the position of the Deputy Chairman of the Managing Board. 

Mr. Petrović is the Chairman of the Committee for the development of the financial markets of the Association of Serbian banks and is a Member of A.C.I. Serbia.  He is a founder of money market curve in RSD - Belibor & Beonia.

Mr. Petrović is married and has a daughter.

 

Gabriel Dina

Gabriel  Dina is the General Manager of MERCK SHARP & DOHME SCG, one of the global leading innovative pharmaceutical companies. He was appointed on this position in December 2005. He started with MSD in Romania in 1995 as sales representative and since then he held several positions of growing responsibilities in sales, marketing and external affairs. From 2001 to 2005 he continued his career with MSD in the company's regional headquarter for Central & Eastern Europe where he held regional external affairs and governmental relations responsibilities as External Affairs Manager followed by  a one year assignment in Czech Republic. During this period he was active on inter-industries initiatives such as the one under the auspices of the UN ECE on the protection of intellectual property rights. Since he came to Belgrade the company increased its headcount 4 times and tripled the size of the business. He is currently Vice-Chair of the association of research and development pharmaceutical companies INOVIA which focus is to enable access to patients to innovative medicines and to foster the business ethics in this field.  Under his leadership MSD Serbia has played important roles in humanitarian and corporate social responsibility activities such as patient assistance programs for vulnerable groups. Company's donations of live saving medicines and vaccines to Serbia exceed  $5 million to date. Mr. Dina received a Medical Doctor diploma from the University of Medicine of Timisoara in Romania and practiced Intensive Care medicine prior to starting his career in pharmaceutical business with MSD in 1995.

 

Borislav Miljanović

Borislav Miljanović, PhD, has been the leader of McCann Erickson Public Relations since its establishment in 2002. From the very beginning, the agency has set new standards in the area of public relations, and in the last three years it has been no.1 in Serbia in regard to business results. The agency provides services for more than thirty companies and organizations. In addition to the agency in Serbia, Miljanović has established McCann Erickson Public Relations regional offices in Montenegro and Skoplje.

Before assuming the leading position in McCann Erickson Public Relations, Borislav Miljanović, PhD, was a journalist and editor in numerous media for a decade. He also established the Public Relations Department in BK Group and the Royal Palace and was an official public relations representative of HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II.

Borislav Miljanović, PhD, graduated from the Faculty of Law and obtained a Master and PhD degree at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade. He today passes his experience in public relations to post-graduates of the Faculty of Political Sciences.
